Singaporean tech company Creative Technology will be moving out of its Jurong headquarters to a smaller space in Alexandra Technopark as it navigates its next stage, while the company has yet to announce a new CEO.
The Straits Times reported that Creative will leave its headquarters in International Business Park in Jurong and take up smaller premises in Alexandra Technopark from March 2026 onwards. The company, known for pioneering work in digital audio products including computer sound and MP3 players, is searching for a new CEO after incumbent Tan Jok Tin announced he would step down in 2026.

The building where Creative currently resides was previously owned by the company, which sold it for S$250 million in 2008. It signed a sale and leaseback agreement, allowing it to retain its headquarters for five years, with options for additional periods. Creative first moved into the building in 1999 when it was a darling of Singaporean industry. However, in subsequent years, it has scaled back its occupation, now only occupying the third and eighth floors.
The official opening of its headquarters in 1999 was presided over by then-Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong, who lauded Creative Technology as the first Singapore company to be listed on New York’s NASDAQ index. Back then, it had over US$1.2 billion in revenue (equivalent to about S$3 billion in 2025) and a workforce of over 4,500. ST reports that Creative currently employs about 280 people globally.
When the company moves to Alexandra Technopark, it will only be renting three office units, about 2,878 square meters. Creative told ST that it decided against renewal as its current lease reached its conclusion, choosing to relocate to a “more modern, dynamic workspace” to “better suit our current operational needs”.
ST further reported that Creative is undergoing a period of transition, as the company’s interim CEO and executive chairman, 73-year-old Tan Jok Kim, announced in November that he would step down on Jan 15, 2026, without naming a successor. Creative had said in July 2025 that it was searching for a new CEO. Tan is the company’s third CEO since the death of Creative’s founder, Sim Wong Hoo.
Sim was a prominent figure in Singapore’s technology industry and was famously outspoken about Singapore’s workplace culture, coining the term “NUTS” or No U-Turn Syndrome to criticize how Singaporeans would refrain from taking action unless rules explicitly allowed them to.
