Aiyo so kesian! One 87-year-old uncle got his head stuck between two water pipes for 18 hours after he fell in the toilet!
This Mr Wu lives alone at Block 96 Aljunied Crescent and uses a wheelchair. On Nov 27 around 10pm, he went to the toilet then fell down, head first into the gap between two water pipes. Wah, trapped until cannot move out!
Because the uncle had no strength and nobody was home, he was stuck there the whole night until the next day 3.30pm! Lucky his friend Mr Lee – his former neighbour who visits him two to three times a week – kept calling him but couldn’t get through, so he quickly went to check on him.
When Mr Lee arrived around 3.40pm and entered the toilet, he found Mr Wu lying there with his head trapped between the pipes, right ear bleeding heavily, eyes closed and semi-conscious already. Damn scary sia!
Mr Lee very steady lah – he talked to the uncle while placing a towel under his face, then slowly pulled his head out before calling for an ambulance. SCDF confirmed they received the call around 3.50pm and sent him to Changi General Hospital.
Really cannot imagine being trapped for 18 hours like that! Hope the uncle recovers soon. This is also a reminder – especially for elderly people living alone, must have someone check on them regularly. Thank goodness Mr Lee noticed something was wrong!
