Man kena jail after inappropriate behaviour case involving ICA officer came to light. A 22 year old Indian national wanted help with his short term visit pass, so he tried to win favour from a 55 year old ICA team leader. He admitted he went along with some of the officer’s inappropriate requests because he thought it would help him with future pass issues.
He was sentenced to seven months’ jail for corruption. The ICA officer himself was already jailed earlier this year for multiple corruption offences. Both had met when the younger man accompanied a friend to extend a visit pass, and the officer later contacted him privately. Things escalated into inappropriate conduct at the officer’s home. CPIB eventually stepped in and arrested the younger man in 2025.
Court say corruption in any form cannot be tolerated, especially from public officers who hold authority. Case shows offenders will face action regardless of age or nationality.
