A secondary school English teacher kena charged for allegedly helping a loan shark harass one Dawson Road resident over unpaid loans. The teacher, 41-year-old Geraldine Quek Yi Ling, was accused of acting on behalf of a loan shark known as Travis Heng.
She was charged on November 27 and ordered to be remanded. Case adjourned to December 4.
Court docs say she allegedly worked with Malaysian Mohd Hairul, 40, to carry out the harassment. Hairul was earlier charged but his charge got withdrawn on November 28. He was accused of hanging a paper bag containing pork and a threatening note at the victimβs unit. The note warned the man to pay up or his house might be burnt.
