Singapore clinches 15 medals, including 5 gold as of Dec. 11 morning at the SEA Games in Thailand

Singaporean athletes have won a total of 15 medals at the 2025 Southeast Asian Games as of Dec 11, ranking third place overall.

According to Team Singapore’s medal tally as at 10am, Team Singapore clinched five gold medals, four silver medals and six bronze medals across badminton, canoe, ju-jitsu, swimming, billiards and snooker, and taekwondo.

**Five gold medals**

On Dec 10, Diyanah Aqidah and Nicholas Khaw won Singapore’s first gold after beating Vietnam with a score of 8.670 in the Recognised Poomsae Mixed Pair event for taekwondo.

In ju-jitsu, 18-year-old Jedd Tan Shi Jie clinched gold after beating Thailand’s Aunjai Chanwit 16-9 in the Men’s Fighting Under 77KG category finals. Canoeing athletes Stephenie Chen Jiexian, 34, and Teo Guang Yi Lucas, 35, earned gold after finishing first with a record time of one minute and 49 seconds in the Mixed Canoe Sprint Kayak Double 500m finals.

In swimming, Mikkel Lee Jun Jie, 23, won gold after finishing first in the Men’s 100m Freestyle finals, marking his new Personal Best. Letitia Sim En Yi, 22, also earned gold for finishing first in the Women’s 50m Breaststroke finals, setting a new Games Record.

**Four silver medals**

Nicole Alethea Khaw Mei Shan, 26, clinched silver in the taekwondo freestyle poomsae (Individual Female Final) category, finishing second after Thailand’s Limjitakorn Watcharakul.

In canoeing, a team of six athletes won silver after finishing second in the Mixed Canoe Sprint Kayak Four 500m finals. National swimmers Quah Zheng Wen, 29, as well as Ashley Lim Yi-Xuan, 20, Gan Ching Hwee, 22, Quah Jing Wen, 25, and Quah Ting Wen, 33, clinched two silver medals in the Men’s 100m Freestyle finals and Women’s 4X100m Freestyle Relay finals respectively.

**Six bronze medals**

On Dec 8, both the Singapore women’s and men’s badminton teams won joint bronze medals in their respective semifinals. Yap Zong Han Darren, 21, was awarded bronze in the taekwondo freestyle poomsae (Individual Male Final) category after tying with Malaysia’s Chin Ken Haw in third place.

In swimming, Quah Jing Wen and Quah Zheng Wen each won bronze in the Women’s 200m Butterfly finals and Men’s 100m Backstroke finals respectively. In billiards and snooker, Charlene Chai and Audrey Chua secured a joint bronze medal.
