PhD student case got update. One 31 year old Chinese national kept chasing his ex housemate even after she reject him many times, he still persist until become scary. She even stayed home to avoid him.
But he trespassed into her condo, forced his way into her room and tried to attack her. Lucky her housemate heard her screaming and pulled him away before things got worse.
Court say his behaviour continue even after he kena charged, he still went back to the condo and even barged into a restricted State Courts chamber. Judge gave him 6 years 6 months jail and 3 strokes caning.
Court say he must face consequences, and also reminded offenders cannot intimidate victims or try to get them to withdraw reports. His actions caused fear and distress to the victim.
