Former conveyancing clerk kena exposed again. This time, he admit misappropriating more than $122k from clients back in 2010 when he was working at a law firm. The money was meant for stamp duties and deposits, but he quietly banked in the cheques for himself.
He also created a fake stamp certificate in 2012 to deceive a bank into releasing a property loan. He literally cut and paste watermarks and logos to make it look real. Bank officer later spotted the name wrong, and the whole thing unravelled. He was arrested in 2019. He is already serving nine years’ jail from an earlier case involving fake documents and a $5.1m mortgage scam.
Prosecution now asking for up to 13 months and six weeks’ jail, to be added on after he finishes his current sentence. Court will decide on Jan 2, 2026.
