Henan Mining Group: Take as Much Money as You Can in 15 Minutes!

A Chinese company has once again made headlines with its extravagant year-end bonus distribution, allowing employees to take home as much cash as they could accurately count within a limited time.

Henan Mine, a crane manufacturing company, held its annual meeting on January 25, 2025, where it distributed over 100 million yuan (approximately S$18.5 million) in year-end bonuses. As part of the grand event, 60 million yuan (around S$11 million) was laid out on a 60 to 70-meter-long table.

Employees were given 15 minutes to count as much money as possible, and they could keep whatever amount they counted correctly.

One particularly skilled employee managed to tally 100,000 yuan (about S$18,560) within the time limit.

This unique approach to bonus distribution has become a tradition for Henan Mine.

In 2023, the company similarly awarded a total of 73 million yuan (S$14 million) to its employees, with 61 million yuan (S$11.8 million) distributed among approximately 40 staff members.

Top-performing sales managers even received up to 5 million yuan (S$972,515) each.

The money-counting challenge was also a highlight of that year’s event, drawing significant attention from both employees and the public.

Henan Mine’s generous rewards have not gone unnoticed, with reports indicating a surge in job applications following these announcements.

The company’s unique incentive program has set it apart, reinforcing its reputation as one of China’s most employee-appreciative firms.
